    • 2 - 2" thick is air driedĭecking can be supplied in T&G if specified
  • 1 1/2" thick for heavy construction, including roof decking.
  • Available with edge grooves for fastening with deck clips.
  • 1 1/4" thick for joists spaced 16" and wider, or for appearance.
  • 7/8" thick for floor joists with 16" spacing -Select & No.
  • Select grade ( few knots) give the smoothest touch to bare feet.
  • Random Lengths 8' to 16' unless otherwise specified.
  • Decking has rounded edges unless otherwise specified.

  • Finish - can be Smooth or Rough ( rough is also called Dirty Top).

  • Most affordable T&G is random width mixture of 4", 6" & 8" widths.
  • Often sold random width to lower average cost.
  • Available in 1" thick boards except by special cutting order.

  • Pecky Cypress without being 100 % Pecky Cypress.
  • Most common T&G pattern for Pecky Cypress is Center Match.
  • T&G Pecky Cypress makes beautiful interior ceiling and walls.
  • Generally sold in 6" or 8" wide boards, or random width ( 6" - 12").
  • Pecky Cypress is always sold Kiln Dried ( KD).
  • Stereum attacks the heartwood of some Cypress trees.
  • Caused by a fungus - Stereum - that dies when the log is cut.
  • Pecky tunnels are finger sized pockets running with the grain.
  • Pecky Cypress is characterized by small tunnels through the wood.

  • Generally made from 6" or 8" wide boards.
  • May have a smooth face for painting or a rough face for staining.
  • Beveled Resawn Siding - 9/16" thick at the butt and taperedīoard & Batten - wide boards side by side, narrow batten strip covers gap.
  • Beveled Siding - 3/4" thick at the butt and tapered.
    • Cypress Siding: recommended types, all Kiln Dried ( KD)

  • Surfacing is available for many sizes of beams.
  • Kiln Dried beams are available in truckload quantities.
  • Typical Sizes ( cross section - thickness and width ):.
  • Lengths longer than 24 feet are usually available but may take longer to cut.
  • Typical Beam Widths : From 3" wide to 12" wide.
  • Surfacing is available for Beams of most sizes.
  • Kiln Drying is available for Beam orders of at least 20,000 board feet.
  • Beams are sound & square edge - cut on true sizes.
  • All Cypress beams are custom sawn when they are ordered.
  • Beams are custom sawn from fresh green Cypress logs.
